What is Reiki

Reiki is the name used to describe a hands-on holistic healing modality which a Reiki trained individual can administer to the body. It’s origin is Japanese, the bringing together of the words REI meaning universal life force and KI meaning energy.

Sometimes referred to as a love energy, Reiki’s ability to promote bodymind balance and flush out emotional/physical toxins is boundless. It aids body, mind and spirit communication, bringing harmony and promoting the healing of any issues present.

Reiki is NOT a medical treatment or a substitute for medical care. However, Reiki is a wonderful support working to help the efficacy of medicines and recovery from invasive procedures.
Due to it’s origin, the Usui Reiki Method of Healing utilizes eastern practice in the understanding of how energy moves through the body and what consequences arise with the blockage or sluggish movement of that energy. Accordingly, a Reiki session entails work with the Meridians and the Chakra System.

The Reiki practitioner opens her/himself to act as a facilitator for universal healing life force energy. The Reiki training purifies and aligns the Reiki practitioner's energy system. In turn, the Reiki practitioner transmits healing energy through their body (hands, eyes and chakras) to the recipient.
